Dr. Rozaida Anna N. Maglaya is a distinguished pediatrician, medical educator, and dedicated researcher. She currently serves as the Dean of the College of Medicine at the Metropolitan Medical Center – College of Arts, Science and Technology (MMC CAST), where she plays an important role in shaping future physicians. With a strong academic background, Dr. Maglaya earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Our Lady of Fatima University, Valenzuela City, and completed her Pediatric Residency Training at Fatima University Medical Center.
Coming from a family of academicians, Dr. Maglaya was inspired to pursue a career in medical education, where she became a passionate and dedicated mentor. She has been a professor in the Departments of Pharmacology and Pediatrics at MMC CAST, sharing her expertise with future physicians. In addition to her primary teaching roles, she has also taught courses in Complementary and Alternative Medicine and Physiology. Demonstrating strong leadership, she has served as the College Secretary and Chairperson of the Department of Pharmacology for over 5 years.
Dr. Maglaya is committed to providing quality medical education that equips future physicians with the skills, knowledge, and compassion necessary for patient-centered care.
Her dedication extends beyond the classroom to impactful research. She presented her study titled “A Cross-Sectional Study on Obesity, Hyperglycemia, and Hypertension Among Children Aged 10 to 15 Years Old” at the Asian Society for Pediatric Research.
Dr. Maglaya is a board-certified physician and holds diplomate status with the Philippine Pediatric Society. She is also an active member of the Philippine Medical Association, Philippine Pediatric Society, Philippine Society for Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology, and the Philippine Society of Physiologists, Inc. She served as the President of the Valenzuela City Medical Society, a component society of Philippine Medical Association for two (2) years. In addition to her academic roles, she is an active consultant at the Department of Pediatrics.
Her unwavering dedication to her students’ success, combined with her clinical excellence and research contributions, continues to inspire both her students and colleagues.
